The Shades 4 U Foundation
"Your future is so bright, here's Shades 4 U!"

Services Program
Introduction
The SHADES 4 U Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization that specializes in raising awareness of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) in communities, both locally and regionally. We also help provide aide and support to the victims and survivors of CSA. Furthermore, we help contribute to make a push in legislature with the prevention of CSA.
Our services are free to patrons, made affordable by contributions, fundraising and other various forms of capital. These services are developed and designated to help increase reporting cases to further gage this running epidemic that continues to plague our society, nation-wide.
Statistics have shown that by the age of eighteen (18), one out of every six (6) boys will have become a victim of CSA and one out of every four (4) girls, as well. Those numbers are astonishing and treatable. This is where The SHADES 4 U Foundation comes in.
We will network with local communities in providing seminars and informational presentations at the academic levels, elementary through high school, including colleges to raise awareness with the target audience, youth. Direct-mailing, coordinated with the local school systems and youth centers, such as YMCA’s and Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs, will take place to spread word on CSA and how we can help the current victims and survivors, as well as prevent it from occurring again in our communities.
Our Services Program will outline and provide detail on how our organization will contribute to the three (3) objectives listed above. We are dedicated to improving youth and putting a safety first approach on the aide of our victims and survivors of CSA. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. For any questions, comments or concerns, please refer to our Services Program or contact the CEO directly via e-mail at shades4ufoundation@gmail.com.

Awareness Presentations & Prevention Training
We specialize in the implementing and the creation of Awareness Presentations and Prevention Training. Through accredited research and certifications from organizations such as The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AAC&AP), Darkness to Light (Stewards of Children) and more.
These presentations are free of charge as we are a non-profit organization that helps communities learn and become aware of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). Knowledge is a powerful resource to fight this epidemic as it works best in numbers. To book and reserve a presentation from The Shades 4 U Foundation or if you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please contact the CEO directly via e-mail at shades4ufoundation@gmail.com.

Incubation
One of our biggest contributors to the charity is the donations from author, (CEO & Founder) Scott Thomas. He is the author of ‘From Ankle-Deep to My Head Above Ground: Surviving Child Sexual Abuse’ and the follow up, ‘Part II: Bigger, Better … Now!’ While on tour, the plugging of our charity and services reaches many to which increase our outlet and outlook all the same. Sponsoring the tours, The SHADES 4 U Foundation is able to reach multiple schools, youth centers, families and communities as a whole to help prevent CSA, raise awareness and provide support to the victims and survivors. This last point is what is driven from the touring.
The book tour is the opening night in the cities when on tour. Speaking at colleges, elementary through high schools, YMCA’s, churches and various centers and groups will help spread word and encourage victims and survivors to come forth, sharing their experience and reporting it, if not already documented. During these tours, informational brochures are printed for each location as to what, when and where for the workshops The SHADES 4 U Foundation holds. It is a one or two day venue where parents and family members are encouraged to attend.
Thus, the incubation starts. There is an opening meeting on a Saturday morning (tentatively) to introduce and incorporate The SHADES 4 U Foundation’s objectives and mission statement. Any guests or personnel present will also be introduced. The brief presentation will accomplish our objective to raise awareness objective through statistics, case studies and video testimonies.
Small Group
During this time, youth are with one instructor or coach at a round table or long table to discuss their knowledge before and after the presentation. Journals are given to the participants to write, draw and take notes of their experience. It becomes their diary/yearbook of sorts through the workshop.
Concept building from the term CSA, Child Sexual Abuse, reaches to victim, survivor, ‘good’ people and ‘bad’ people. Then, we move into a slightly more complex activity in sharing our experience. At this time, the parents, families and friends are invited to join their children at the table.
Confidentiality is of the utmost importance, thus no pictures or flash photography is allowed during these workshops. However, patrons and participants are allowed to do so off-site. This is why the journals are established to commemorate and collect positive memories and building blocks for our victims and survivors of CSA.
Finale
This is the time when our participants and their loved ones all come together like during the opening introductions. Here, they will receive their SHADES 4 U T-shirts, trademark logo sunglasses and certificate of completion. The proper paperwork will be notated as a designated time window for a follow-up phone call on what local services are available in their area will be scheduled. Representatives from such agencies and organizations may be present during the workshops, too.
Our ‘Spotlight’ Newsletter will be provided as well to our participants and families. During this time, an open Q & A session will take place and contact information can be exchanged across the board between personnel and participants, or participants and participants. In conclusion, the time frame for these workshops is four (4) to six (6) hours. A small lunch or snack will be provided as well with a beverage upon completion and prior to departure.
Follow Up Call
This call takes place as approximated on the paperwork filed with the participant during the workshops. The call serves as a benchmark for accuracy, feedback and the initial networking with local services, programs and organizations in the area to further provide services, treatment and aide for the victims and survivors of CSA. This call takes place within five (5) days of the workshop and will be followed up by another call eight (8) to ten (10) weeks following the completion of the workshop to serve as another checkpoint on the victims and survivors, as well as their loved ones.
